A San Antonio woman is arrested on South Padre Island, after driving her vehicle into the bay.
South Padre Island officials tell FOX 2 it happened Wednesday, around 8 pm. When officers arrived to the 1700 block of Laguna Boulevard, they witnessed three men helping a woman out of the car.
Those witnesses say the woman drove into the water at a high speed, and they had to break a window to get her out. That woman is identified as 25-year-old Maria Luisa Castro.
A breathalyzer test revealed Castro was almost twice the legal limit. She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
