WESLACO – The city manager and police chief of the city of Weslaco have confirmed chief Michael Kelley is voluntarily retiring. Kelley is stepping down after more than three decades with the Weslaco Police department.
He officially became the chief in 2012 after former chief Juan Sifuentes resigned.
Kelley says he’s not sure when his last day on the job will be but it will likely be around the middle of this month
The city says, they will focus on interviewing candidates to become the next chief of police.
