Details into a U.S. federal indictment centering on a former governor of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas is now being revealed.
In the now unsealed indictment Tomas Yarrington Ruvalcaba is facing several charges including racketeering and money laundering. With the purpose to defraud federally insured U.S. banks.
The 56-year-old served as governor of Tamaulipas from 1999 to 2004. He is accused of receiving large bribes from major drug traffickers. Yarrington’s whereabouts are unknown.
