Rosalina Garcia sent this cell phone video to our newsroom. She said dozens of people were running through her home on the 21-hundred block of east mile 11, in the city of Weslaco at around 2 p.m.
“They were climbing all over, trying to come inside .a boy was almost crying because he couldn’t get over the fence because of the barb wire,” says Rosalina Garcia, Weslaco resident.
According to border patrol agent Daniel Tirado, 74 undocumented immigrants were detained this afternoon, from Mexico, central and South America. It’s unclear how many minors were in the group.
