Congressman Cuellar spoke to Fox2 about Texas becoming one among several locations across the country to pilot a drone program by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi along with Alaska, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, and Virginia will be hosting research sites for the FAA to incorporate unmanned drones in commercial skies.

The FAA currently bans the commercial use of drones to fly in US airspace, but hopes to develop new guidelines by the end of 2015.
