Two teens have been released from the hospital following a crash earlier this week with a La Joya I.S.D. school bus but now they may face time behind bars.

Eduardo Chapa and Eliud Lopez– both 17 years old– are facing charges in connection to possession of marijuana.

Chapa was issued a $55,000 bond and Lopez a $50,000 bond.

Authorities say the duo was evading officers when they crashed into school bus Monday.

Both suspects were taken to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

And nearly 200 pounds of marijuana was found inside their Nissan Altima.

No students were on board at the time of the accident and the bus driver was not hurt.
