Despite leaving a tarnished imprint on the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, convicted members of the now-disbanded Panama Unit are getting Christmas early.

A judge has granted sentencing to be postponed. This is in response to Sheriff Guadalupe Treviño’s son, Jonathan, along with Claudio Alberto Mata requesting to have the holidays to spend with their loved ones.

All 12 defendants are scheduled to be sentenced in February 2014, after being convicted of their roles in making a profit off drug traffickers.
