The 25-year-old had been initially detained by McAllen police for a similar case in which she is accused of stealing and smuggling two other vehicles.
Liliana Salgado from Weslaco is being accused of breaking into a green, 2003 jeep liberty on December 15th in San Juan.
The theft took place while the owner was attending mass at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church on El Dora Road.
Authorities then shared a photo taken while Salgado was driving the stolen jeep through the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.
Mcallen police were able to arrest her following the theft of two other vehicles.
Even though the victim of this theft says to feel fortunate police made an arrest, she still does not have her vehicle.
Salgado allegedly belongs to an auto theft ring, one of multiple believed to be linked to robberies across the Valley lately.
Elizondo believes speaking out may help prevent this from happening to someone else.
Meanwhile Salgado will remain in custody until posting a bond of $30,000.
Officials in the Valley say they will continue working with their Mexican counterparts to help locate the missing vehicles.
