President Obama: ‘No Regrets’ on Using ‘N-Word’

The White House says President Obama has no regrets about using the ‘n-word’ in a podcast interview with comedian Marc Maron.

In the podcast, the president said the country is not cured of racism–and that it’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say the ‘n-word’ in public.

Earnest says: “the president’s use of the word and the reason he used the word could not be more apparent from the context of his discussion on the podcast. The president made clear it is not possible to judge the nation’s progress on race issues based solely on an evaluation of our country’s manners…”

Obama went on to say quote: “That’s not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It’s not just a matter of overt discrimination”.
