Harlingen law enforcement– with the help of state officials– literally wiped away memories of criminal acts this afternoon.
They say buildings that were once high-profile places for drugs and human smuggling, among other crimes, are no more demolished to the ground.
This is part of an initiative called “Operation Crackdown” they add this is one of 16 locations– with 25 to 30 abandoned structures in total– being taken down and it will continue until December 19th.
Harlingen is the only city joining forces with the Texas joint counterdrug task force and in the last two years they have taken down over 50 structures.
