Starting Friday, there is a zero-tolerance policy for those who drink and get behind the wheel.
Authorities across the Valley are operating what’s called a “no refusal” initiative for the next two weekends. “No refusal” means if you refuse a breathalyzer test, it can be used against you in court and your license will be suspended for a minimum of 180 days. However, if you decide to take the test, and you are above the legal limit, then your license will be suspended for at least 90 days.
The best way to avoid either scenario, is to simply have a designated driver.
