A familiar, and popular shopping center is sprouting up again in the Valley, but aside from the added convenience, it’s helping the wallet of the city of Donna, and the residents it serves.

At first glance this may just look like and empty field, however, it is part of a groundbreaking project to create a new Wal-Mart that will not be an added convenience to local shoppers, but will create hundreds of new jobs.

The store will be located in the corner of FM 493 and mi. 8 1/2,  which the mayor says is a prime location.

Some residents are already looking forward to it.

This job growth began with construction, which has already seen a nearly two-percent jump in the local workforce.

According to the mayor of the city, construction is set to begin in early 2014 and finish by fall.
