If you ever dreamt of becoming a superhero, now might be your chance.
The March of Dimes Foundation is organizing a Superheroes for Babies 5K Run/Walk on
December 28. Families are invited to participate and dress up as their favorite superhero and help
fundraising towards premature-born infants.
“The valley unfortunately has very high rates, higher than the rest of the state,” said Lori Ruiz, community
director of March of Dimes. “1 in 8 babies is born premature and so what our organization does is we
fundraise to figure out why and how to prevent premature births.”
Registration for the event will take place at Edinburg Municipal Park at 7:30 a.m. the day of the
race. Discounted tickets can be purchased until Friday on their website.
