In response to two incidents in which Brownsville Independent School District buses caught on fire, more than 100 vehicles are undergoing careful inspections.
According to an informational release from BISD the fire in one of those incidents was due to mechanical failure.
In both cases the drivers were able to get the students off the bus and put them out of harm’s way.
BISD officials have contacted the bus company and it will send out specialists from Chicago to determined the source of the problem
As of now four buses are out of commission.
