Brownsville (KFXV) — The city of Brownsville has approved a new law, making it mandatory for pet owners to microchip their furry friends.
City commissioners approved the ordinance Tuesday.
The objective: to decrease the number of strays, and make it easier for lost pets to get home safely.
Microchipping your pet in Brownsville will cost $5.
