BROWNSVILLE – A man is facing aggravated assault charges after he allegedly stormed inside a convenience store drunk and threatened an employee with a machete.
35 year old Javier Jaime Garcia was arrested Tuesday afternoon when a Stripes convenience store clerk called police after Garcia walked into the store and demanded money.
When the clerk told Garcia that he could not open the register, he displayed the machete and threatened him.
Immediately thereafter, the Garcia was arrested when leaving the store.
Tonight he remains behind bars on one count for aggravated robbery and a second count for public intoxication.
His bond was set at $75,339 dollars.
