A deportation takes a dangerous turn in Cameron County early this morning.
Dozens are injured following a rollover carrying ICE detainees and now an investigation is under way to figure out what exactly happened.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, it happened at around 2:30 a.m. near Harlingen, two immigration and customs enforcement buses were hauling over 60 detainees to Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport when the crash happened.
ICE Spokesperson, Nina Pruneda says 40 of the detainees were from El Salvador.
They, along with the two drivers, were treated and released from local hospitals.
The detainees are now in the custody of ICE agents, their deportation status was not made available.
