Human Smuggler Goes Before Judge

HIDALGO COUNTY (KFXV) — The driver of a moving truck with 19 undocumented people and fled from police. Wednesday he went before a court.
He’s identified as Roel Eduardo Coronel who received three charges for human trafficking, evading arrest in a vehicle and on foot. The judged gave the 25-year-old a $205,000 bond.
Police say they attempted to stop Coronel after he left a home in Mission in that U-Haul truck. He ended up on Jordan Street in McAllen. He then fled on foot and hide in his mother’s apartment where he was found and arrested – along with his mother.
Mission Police tell Fox News they were tracking Cornel for several days, after an immigrant called authorities and told them he, along with others, were being held against their will.
Investigators say, Coronel admitted to receiving payment for transporting the immigrants.
