A multiple rollover incident caused part of highway 281 to be shut down.
Edinburg police tells FOX 2 NEWS that around 6 pm an elderly couple were driving their trailer truck which carried a car and was towing another trailer loaded with a pickup, going southbound on expressway 281 near the 2812 exit, when according to family members, the towed trailer lost control after driving over debris and caused the entire cargo to roll over and causing the temporary closure of the roads.
We are told 69-year-old Isabel Muñoz and his wife Maria, 65, are Donna residents that were driving back from Colorado after the potato harvesting. They suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. No other motorists were involved in the accident. Maintenance crews and emergency response teams are working to clear the highway.
