RGV (KFXV) — Health officials say we should continue our efforts in preventing the spread of Zika.
Local authorities stress the importance of remaining vigilant against the spread of Zika in the Rio Grande Valley as its presence is nearing home – this after the first case of travel-related Zika was confirmed in Cameron County.
Hidalgo County has investigated several cases that were of concern– possibly being travel-related – none have been confirmed. The most important thing, according to health authorities is that there are no localized cases of Zika, yet it is closer to home than ever before.
