FOX SPECIAL REPORT: Assistance available to veterans wishing to return to school
Local universities such as UTRGV, TSTC and others have created programs for veterans who wish to return to school. These programs offer economic and academic aid to help veterans reunite with society, and give many who feel lost, a sense of purpose.
“…I have a friend who suffered ptsd he had a terrible time,” says Victor Fax, who was a medic in the army.
Some of the issues that can affect a veteran after they return home include PTSD, homelessness, a feeling of loneliness.
The Rio Grande Valley has four clinics specialized in helping veterans, two located in Harligen and two more in Mcallen.
