Eight Edinburg Officers Awarded Purple Heart
In Edinburg, five police officers were honored in a very big way today–awarded the Purple Heart.
Those five officers were involved in a shooting last year, in La Joya, in which Texas syndicate gang member, Joaquin Cibrian, barricaded himself inside his home and open fired on police.
“And it is something we will never forget, that was something ugly, something traumatic like a nightmare, but even with good training succeed that we are here for police and speaking of that day.”
Individuals are eligible for the Purple Heart if they were required to seek professional medical attention after being injured in the line of duty.
