RGV (KFXV) — Customs and Border Protection Officials say they intercepted more than $230,000 in drugs at two Brownsville ports of entry.
The drugs found inside a car and a pick up in two separate incidents. The first bust took place when a 21 year old from Brownsville was found with five packages of cocaine weighing almost 13 pounds in his car during a secondary inspection at the Gateway International Bridge.
The second happened at the Brownsville- Matamoros International Bridge, a 39 year old Mexican National referred to a secondary inspection was found to have a little over 17 pounds of cocaine in 176 packages hidden within his pickup truck.
Estimated street value for the drugs is both cases is about $230,520. Both men were turned over to Homeland security for further investigation.
