Today a jury found a Cameron County employee guilty of corruption.
Raul Salazar, an employee of Cameron County Commissioner Ernie Hernandez, was convicted on two counts of abuse of official capacity and one count of tampering with a government record.
According to the prosecutor, Salazar ordered a human resources employee to take a civil service exam for someone else.
That other personas was hired but quickly resigned when the county started investigating the case.
Sentencing for Salazar will be held next month.
