Brownsville Resident Dead after Kidnapping in Mexico

A Brownsville resident is dead after he was kidnapped, along with another victim across the border.
The victim has been identified by the Cameron County sheriff’s office as 38-year-old Eric Candanosa.
According to the surviving victim, their car overheated and they had to stop along a Tamaulipas highway near Nuevo Progreso.
That’s when a group of several men approached them and kidnapped them, took them to an isolated area and beat them with two-by-fours.
The pair was taken to a hospital, but they were later dropped off at the Los Indios Bridge.
Candanosa was pronounced dead at the border crossing.
The case remains under investigation at this time.
