Seven additional suspects have are facing charges for their alleged involvement in a gas theft ring in Cameron County.
According to the Cameron County district attorney’s office, the suspects were part of the Brownsville gasoline theft ring that spanned several months and resulted in more than $20,000 worth of gas stolen.
Among the seven people arrested are four Brownsville residents and three San Benito residents.
Larry Muñoz, who was arrested last week, worked as a manager of the 7-11 convenience store and allegedly used a keypad apparatus to bypass security measures at a gasoline pump to steal gas from his employer.
Munoz was caught in the act by law enforcement agents.
The investigation continues, and more arrests could take place.
