There was chaos this morning at Los Angeles International Airport when a man carrying a semi-automatic rifle shot his way past security.
Police say 23-year-old Paul Ciancia entered terminal three with a firearm in a duffle bag killing a TSA officer and wounding several others before being taken into custody by airport police.
After a short gunfight with police, Ciancia was wounded and taken into custody.
Police say this was an isolated incident – and believe Ciancia was the only shooter.
There’s still no word on what his motive may have been.
Airport officials say nearly 750 flights were affected.
LAX is working on returning to normal operations.
