Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Cocaine in Shoe

BROWNSVILLE (KFXV) — One man is arrested after failing to signal while changing lanes, and attempting to escape from law enforcement.
26-year-old Jose Alfredo Paz Jr was driving on the 600 block of Lindale Lane when officers recognized him from a previous investigation. He and the passenger to step out of the car after they were stopped.
Authorities found a black locked box under the floorboard containing four sandwich bags full of marijuana and 22 small zip-lock type baggies were found with cocaine hidden in his right shoe.
Paz was arrested and charged with multiple counts as failure to identify, possession of marijuana, warrant from Cameron County and a warrant from Hidalgo County.
