WESLACO (KFXV) — Criminals steal merchandise that would have gone to benefit students.

Thousands of dollars worth of merchandise are stolen from a trailer belonging to the Weslaco East Athletic Club. Police now investigate the crime.
As seen on this surveillance video, a vehicle approaches the parking lot of Bobby Lackey Stadium, Friday night.
At least one person is seen getting out of the suv and then taking off.
The suspects damaged the property and ransacked it before abandoning it.
Inside the trailer there were several items including blankets, cups and socks that are sold to fund scholarships.
Officials say, 30 scholarships were awarded last year. This time, that will depend on how much money the club has to use to replace the stolen items.
