One of Two Bank Robbery Suspects behind Bars, another Remains on the Run

A bank robbery case is one step closer to being closed; McAllen police tell us they’ve got one of the two robbery suspects in custody. The bank robbery happened Monday, May 16 at this Wells Fargo, located on East Jackson Avenue in McAllen. Tonight, one of the suspects, Valeria Garcia, is behind bars. 34-year-old Valeria Garcia was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. The FBI is aiding McAllen PD in the investigation. The family of a murdered Penitas man is speaking out for the first time since the incident Saturday night. The family’s only request is that their loved one be remembered as the kind and loving person that he was… perhaps the hardest piece of information to comprehend is that there is still no motive to the murder. These photos and memories are all that Raul Garza’s family has left of him after he was gunned down Saturday night by a man who was supposed to be his friend. Man Gunned Down in Mission Neighborhood

The family says they feel helpless and only demand justice as they find no motive behind this crime. “That’s why I ask for justice the person responsible needs to be taken into custody and never released so he does hurt anymore innocent people,” explains Lourdes Gamez, victim’s sister. The blood stains are still visible on the ground and the handprints of 25 year old Edgar Gamez are still on the door of the house where he went seeking aid shortly after he was shot. The mother and aunt of Edgar were a few doors down at home when the night took an unexpected turn. “The neighbor came knocking on my door and was screaming saying they had shot my brother,” says Lourdes Gamez, victim’s sister. Minutes later he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to authorities Edgar was at his home where he operated an auto mechanic shop last night around midnight when a group of men approached him and took him by force inside a vehicle. He was later released in this neighborhood in front of his relatives’ home where he was gunned down.
