Police Search for Fugitive Human Trafficker

PHARR (KFXV) — US Marshals are requesting the public’s help in locating a fugitive. After a five-day trial, Luis Gerardo Betancourt has been convicted on two charges– but is now considered a fugitive, after failing to appear in federal court. The 20-year-old, Pharr resident is accused of conspiracy to commit hostage taking and conspiracy to transport undocumented immigrants in 2015. He is now wanted after his failure to appear for trial and presentation of evidence. Judge Refuses Bond Reduction in SPI Hit and Run

SPI (KFXV) — A judge has refused to reduce the bond for the 20-year-old woman accused of striking five people during spring break, and fleeing the scene. 20-year-old, Daisy Joy Decker, of Sugarland, Texas, initially had a $130,000 bond for the multiple charges for her alleged involvement of a hit and run on March 17th. 4 Arrested After Shootout in Progresso

Hidalgo County (KFXV) — In Hidalgo County four men are facing charges in connection to a double homicide that took place over the weekend. Each of the four men are now facing murder charges and are being held at the Hidalgo County Jail under a half-a-million dollars bond. The double homicide — initially investigated by Progreso Police — is now in the hands of Hidalgo County Sheriff’s investigators. Trial Postponed in Palmview Double Homicide

Hidalgo County (KFXV) — In 2015, two women were found dead on the side of the road, one with drugs taped to her body. The man accused of the double homicide is back in court.
