Four Edinburg Vela Football Players Face Vandalism Charges

Edinburg (KFXV) — Four football players, who are between 17 and 18 years old, have all been suspended for 30 days effective immediately after being accused of vandalizing the Bobcats practice field. Edinburg CISD Police Chief says the four suspects were seen in surveillance video and went before a judge today. Per authorities, they will face state felony charges for graffiti because the vandalism was done at school. Vandalism on the Rise in One South Texas Community

Residents say it’s not even safe for children to play in front of their own yards. Neighbors near Mile 9 say pieces of cement and broken tree branches are evidence of the vandalism, which is allegedly a daily occurrence. La Villa FFA Animals Beaten and Injured

Dozens of la villa high school students were shocked to learn that their FFA animals had been beaten and injured over the weekend. The incident, happened at the FFA barn, located on the 200 block of west Highway 107 in the city of La Villa. The superintendent of la villa independent school district describes it as an act of vandalism; however parents describe it as that of a horror scene. Superintendent Solis says she is planning to increase the surveillance on school grounds to ensure that unfortunate events such as these will not happen again. Edinburg Police Investigate Graffiti Vandalism

Authorities are investigating an act of vandalism as dozens of graffiti markings in the city of Edinburg were discovered this morning. Edinburg Police Lieutenant, Oscar Treviño, tells Fox 2 News the block-long trail of graffiti happened overnight. Treviño also says the vandal or vandals involved in this incident didn’t think that spray painting ‘Joe loves Brianna’ on utility boxes was enough, as the same message appears again and again on walls, businesses and even residences.
