Harlingen Launches DUI Spring Break Crackdown

The search to catch them all is on . The mobile application called “Pokeman Go” is taking country by storm and TxDOT officials are warning users of the dangers of using the application while driving. The “Pokemon Go” craze is raising safety issues with TxDOT officials that say the app is no different than texting and it shouldn’t be used while driving. We spoke to local parents about the craze. Fourth of July Weekend Death Statistics

Texas (KFXV) — Almost 3 million people projected to hit Texas Highways. By the end of this fourth of July weekend, authorities will be out in full force. According to AAA and The Texas Department of Transportation, in 2015 more than 886 Texans died due to alcohol-related accidents, 19 of those deaths occurring during the Fourth of July weekend. Proposition One Aims at Lighting Rio Grande Valley Highways

More than 12,000 accidents have been reported by TxDOT on the highways. The Hidalgo County Metropolitan Planning Organization is making sure lighting is not one of them. Part of the Expressway has lighting and some doesn’t, but all this is about to change for drivers as a new project looks to fix and upgrade the lights.
