Man Arrested after 560lb Marijuana Bust

Tonight a suspect, remains behind bars after his arraignment this afternoon. Hidalgo county HIDTA agents arrested 57-year-old José Luis Montero-Barraza, a Mexican national, after a traffic stop last night conducted by a deputy constable near U.S. Highway 281 in Edinburg. According to authorities, the suspect provided a false statement and documentation required for commercial drivers after obtaining consent from the driver to search the vehicle, a k-9 unit detected the presence of narcotics inside the trailer.
