Harlingen (KFXV) — Officials confirming the human remains found four days ago in Rio Hondo, belong to 19-year-old, Nahomi Rodriguez, missing as of July of last year. Message sent by Enedina Sanchez, Nahomi’s aunt, to the people responsible for the teenager’s homicide.  Nahomi Rodriguez was last seen on July 17th — caught on surveillance video leaving work, in a gray color SUV — the identity of the driver and his relationship to her is unknown.  According to Harlingen Chief of Police, the remains found near Road 544 in Rio Hondo, belong to Rodriguez –findings that leave family members heartbroken. Willacy Co. Sheriff Under Investigation for Misuse of Funds

WILLACY COUNTY (KFXV) — The Willacy County Sheriff, Larry Spencer confirmed that their office is under investigation by the Texas Rangers and Homeland Security. It stems from discrepancies found in use of funds from the “Stone Garden” and “Border Star” grants that pay for overtime work. As part of their protocol, the investigation will audit records regarding dispersal of funds. Man Found Guilty of Brutal Double Homicide

A grand jury in Starr County indicted Jesus Angel Rebollar for two counts of capital murder that sent shockwaves of disbelief throughout the community. We first reported in early November, the grisly murder of a father and his son, 41-year-old Hector Garcia and three year-old, Julian Garcia, in Rio Grande City near the intersection of Woods Brothers Road and Sagunada St. The victims were found, gunned down in their vehicle. Mid-Day Shooting Leaves One Dead in Edcouch

Edcouch (KFXV) – the Texas Rangers are investigating a deadly – shooting that happened over the weekend – near the Edcouch-Elsa School District Administration building. The victim is identified as 35-years-old – Juan Manuel Belmarez – shot multiple times while – driving his vehicle in the middle of the day on Southern Avenue and Reyes Street.
