Man Dies in Custody; Police Investigating

Hidalgo County (KFXV) — Authorities are investigating the death of a man at a local city jail. Edinburg police have requested help from the sheriff’s office in investigating the death of man in their custody. Thirty-year-old, Christopher Reyes, was placed in custody Sunday morning, after officers responded to a 911 call from a family member. During his apprehension, Reyes was transported to a local hospital where he died that afternoon. As standard protocol, the agency contacted the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the incident. SPI Police Search for Drone Thief

South Padre Island police are searching for four men who burglarized a vehicle and took about $1,000 in property. This is surveillance video released by the victim. Four men walked over to his vehicle opened it and eventually took his drone Sunday evening. “All the subjects walked over to his vehicle initially, then they walked away. You can see in the surveillance video as two Hispanic man brazenly drive up to the convenience store, stealing a total of 55 packages of soda. They took the sodas from that the outside of the store.
