SPI Man Sentenced for Possession of Child Porn

One man from South Padre Island will spend nearly five years in a federal prison after entering a guilty plea for possession of child pornography. The US attorney’s office in Brownsville is reporting that 70-year-old Howard William Halverson received  60 months in a federal prison and ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to victims identified in his child porn collection. Court documents state that the judge took into consideration Halverson’s age. The investigation found Halverson began using peer-to-peer software to exchange the images. SPI Police Search for Drone Thief

South Padre Island police are searching for four men who burglarized a vehicle and took about $1,000 in property. This is surveillance video released by the victim. Four men walked over to his vehicle opened it and eventually took his drone Sunday evening. “All the subjects walked over to his vehicle initially, then they walked away. Port Isabel (KFXV) — Reports of a threat in Port Isabel causes fear and confusion among some of its residents. It also prompted temporary closure of it main highway and surrounding businesses. Port Isabel police arrested 54-year-old, Angel Gomez after making a false bomb threat on board a Valley Metro Bus. Police say the caller reported that one of the passengers claimed he had a bomb in his backpack.
