Edinburg Couple Arrested for Sex Trafficking

EDINBURG (KFXV) — An Edinburg couple has been convicted of sex trafficking, according to the U.S Attorney’s Office. Thirty-seven-year-old, Abelardo Gomez and 25-year-old, Cerene Ortiz pleaded guilty on “conspiring” to commit sex trafficking of minors. In March of last year, according to court documents, Gomez brought a 14 and 15-year-old female minor from Louisiana back to his home he shared with Ortiz in Edinburg. During a two-week period, investigators say the minors engaged in sex acts with numerous adult males after creating advertisements on Backpage.com. Cameron County (KFXV) — Law enforcement asking for an explanation from the court that sentenced Marco Antonio Gonzalez to five years of prison for capital murder. Former La Joya High School Teacher Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charge

In Federal Court today, a former La Joya High School teacher plead guilty to one count of receiving child pornography. A homeland Security Investigation revealed 30 year old Jesus Javier Jr. had more than 400 photos and videos of underage children engaging in sexual and violent acts.
