Aggravated Robbery Suspect Faces Judge, Two more on the Run

An aggravated robbery suspect faces charges today, while police continue searching for two more involved. Twenty-three year-old Gabriel Salazar is facing charges for robbing a man on the corner of El Gato and Tower Roads in Alamo on August 25 with two other suspects. “Those suspects assaulted him and at gunpoint demanded the keys to his vehicle. Once they were able to get the keys to his vehicle they stole several power tools and other items from his vehicle and then left the crime scene”. The victim suffered minor injuries. Authorities Investigating Fatal Shooting in Weslaco

Authorities say when they arrived to the scene it seemed like a one vehicle accident had just occurred, but once they took a closer look it was something completely different. Shortly after 1 AM this morning when authorities received a call from a woman claiming she saw a vehicle slammed up against a tree on the 3700 block east of Frontage Road. The Hidalgo County sheriff’s office has not made any arrests, after a man was found dead Monday in San Carlos. According to investigators, 46-year-old Sergio Salazar of Weslaco, was murdered sometime over the weekend and then was set on fire by the suspects, to get rid of the evidence. A Hidalgo County precinct four employee called 9-1-1 after he discovered the body, Monday morning near Texmex and Sunflower roads in San Carlos prompting the murder investigation. San Carlos Burned Body Identified

Hidalgo County sheriff’s investigators have identified a body found Monday morning in San Carlos. The victim is 46 year old Sergio Salazar, a Weslaco resident who according to homicide detectives was murdered sometime over the weekend. Those responsible for Salazar’s death tried to get rid of evidence by setting his body on fire in a brush area. An Hidalgo County precinct four employee discovered the body Monday morning near Texmex road and Sunflower in San Carlos. The crew notified the Hidalgo County sheriff’s office which responded to the scene and initiated the murder investigation.
