Roma (KFXV) — According to federal documents, agents with the Harlingen Fugitive Operations unit arrested a previously deported Mexican man.  On Thursday of last week, Harlingen police arrested 41-year-old Rigoberto Olvera-Martinez near Rio Grande City.  According to police, Martinez confessed to illegally crossing back into the U.S. in May of last year near Roma.  Martinez received a conviction in June of 2006 for importing more than 5 kilos of cocaine, and has a 41-month sentence. Martinez received a court-appointed lawyer and awaits his...

Known Human Smuggler Arrested in Starr County

STARR COUNTY (KFXV) — A woman involved in human trafficking is behind bars tonight. According to authorities, Abigail Del Angel, originally from Mexico, operated out of Rio Grande City, and allegedly smuggled up to 75 undocumented immigrants per week. Authorities had previously removed Del Angel for her involvement in smuggling and dwelling illegally in the United States. Jesus Angel Rebollar went before a judge today, where he entered a “not guilty” plea. Man Found Guilty of Brutal Double Homicide

A grand jury in Starr County indicted Jesus Angel Rebollar for two counts of capital murder that sent shockwaves of disbelief throughout the community. We first reported in early November, the grisly murder of a father and his son, 41-year-old Hector Garcia and three year-old, Julian Garcia, in Rio Grande City near the intersection of Woods Brothers Road and Sagunada St. The victims were found, gunned down in their vehicle.
