BROWNSVILLE, Texas—Foreign Trade Zone No. 62 at the Port of Brownsville ranks second in the nation for the value of exports (shipments to foreign countries) during 2015 according to the U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZ) Board’s annual report to Congress released Thursday, September 15, 2016. Worker Trapped Under Metal at Port of Brownsville

A worker injured at the all star metal recycling center in the port of Brownsville remains in critical condition tonight. First responders arrived at the recycling center around 10am this morning, shortly after it was determined that the worker was trapped under some metal. Drag Racing Accident Leaves One Person In Critical Condition

BROWNSVILLE – Authorities are investigating a drag racing accident that left one person in critical condition. Authorities responded to a crash on Sunday night at the port of Brownsville near Jaime Zapata park near highway 48. Jose Luis Villarreal was identified as the driver of a maroon in color Chevy Tahoe involved in the drag racing incident. We’re told 4 passengers were inside the vehicle including two adolescents. A 14 year old is in critical condition at Brownsville regional hospital.
