A man is now in custody after leading police on a chase through Las Milpas early Thursday morning. Police tried to stop the man for a traffic violation on Highway 281 and Anaya street. The driver didn’t stop and police gave chase — moments later, the vehicle hit a barrier and the car spun out of control. He jumped out of the car and tried to get away on foot. Hidalgo County (KFXV) — Authorities are investigating the death of a man at a local city jail. Edinburg police have requested help from the sheriff’s office in investigating the death of man in their custody. Thirty-year-old, Christopher Reyes, was placed in custody Sunday morning, after officers responded to a 911 call from a family member. During his apprehension, Reyes was transported to a local hospital where he died that afternoon. Cameron County (KFZV) — A young man is recovering in a hospital after being shot. Authorities are considering this an ‘accidental shooting’. While the condition has been deemed critical, the suspect in this case is already police custody. SAN JUAN (KFXV) — A teenager is in police custody after a weapon was found in his possession. San Juan Police confirmed the 15-year-old is now facing charges for unlawful possession of a firearm as well as a narcotics charge after taking these items into a school.
