FBI Confirms Source of Sony Pictures Hack

After much speculation, the FBI now confirms North Korea is officially responsible for the cyber attack on Sony Pictures. A group of hackers called the “Guardians of Peace” broke into Sony’s servers, published private e-mails and threatened to attack movie theaters screening the controversial comedy “The Interview”. The movie, based on an assassination plot on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was pulled shortly after by Sony. The FBI says it linked the malware, infrastructure and techniques used in the Sony attack to previous North Korean cyber attacks. PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — Dennis Rodman sang “Happy Birthday” to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un before leading a squad of former NBA stars for a friendly game Wednesday as part of his “basketball diplomacy” that has been criticized in the United States. Rodman dedicated the game to his “best friend” Kim, who along with his wife and other senior officials and their wives watched from a special seating area.
