A man, who was injured and later hospitalized after being involved in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday, is doing better, only now he’s facing murder charges. Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies arrested and arraigned 21-year-old Daniel Guerrero at his hospital bed in McAllen for murder and deadly conduct. Justice of the peace “Melo” Ochoa took care of his arraignment today. Guerrero was the getaway driver of the drive-by shooting that occurred on March 5th on Mayberry Road north of rural McAllen. Drive-By Shooting Suspect Sentenced to 55 Yrs in 2012 Murder

A young man has been sentenced to age behind a cell, after being found guilty in the shooting death of a Valley high school graduate. 22-year-old Raul Trevino Lara was sentenced to 55 years behind bars Thursday night. Prosecutors say in October of 2012, he was inside a van that opened fire on a group of teenagers, killing 17-year-old Miguel Vasquez.
