International Kidnapping Charges for Brownsville Man

Brownsville (KFXV) — A Brownsville man is arrested for taking off to Mexico City with his child and charged by authorities with international parental kidnapping. Authorities arrested, 36-year-old, Ismail Khaleel Al Gebory after receiving a criminal complaint in Brownsville alleging Al Gebory had taken the child after a weekend visitation. The mother has sole custody of the child while Al Gebory has regular visitation rights. When Al Gebory picked up the child and did not return her that weekend, the mother contacted authorities telling them Al Gebory had relatives in Iraq ,according to charges. U.S. officials angry over corruption in Mexican prisons which aided in ‘El Chapo’s escape

(CNN) — The escape of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman aroused anger among U.S. officials and suspicions of inside help from corrupt Mexican prison employees, U.S. law enforcement officials said Sunday. The fear of an escape is one reason why U.S. officials had pushed the Mexican government, since his Guzman’s capture last year, to extradite him to face charges in the U.S., where multiple indictments are filed for his role in Sinaloa trafficking schemes. NBA game in Mexico City postponed

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The game between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves was postponed Wednesday night because of smoky conditions inside the Mexico City arena. The matchup will be made up in Minnesota at a later date. The arena was evacuated about 45 minutes before the scheduled 9:30 p.m. EST tipoff when a generator malfunction outside the arena sent smoke pouring into the building, according to NBA spokeswoman Sharon Lima.
