Execution set for man who killed and raped his cousin

A date has been set for the execution of a man who killed and raped his cousin 20 years ago. Ruben Ramirez Cardenas murdered his 16-year-old cousin, Mayra Laguna in February of 1997. His execution by lethal injection has been set for November 8th of this year. According to court documents, Ramirez took Laguna from her McAllen apartment, tied her hands and taped her mouth shut. Fifth arrest in the McAllen murder of a San Antonio man

  McAllen police have made a fifth arrest in connection to the murder of a San Antonio man whose body was found behind a home near the intersection of Main Street and Vine St. Officers arrested 49-year-old, Avero Olivarez Alaniz who is now behind bars for the death of 41-year-old, Nicholas Anthony Bazan.
