Agencies in Harlingen Investigate Toddler Death

Harlingen (KFXV) – Agencies in Harlingen are investigating the death of a toddler. According to authorities the two-year-old has been identified as Catalina Desaray Castaneda who allegedly fell down a flight of stairs and sustained serious injuries. The fall happened Wednesday the 19th near the 1800 block of south 3rd street. Emergency responders found Catalina unresponsive at the scene and transported her to an area hospital where she died of her injuries. Vehicle Crashes into McAllen Business on Pecan

MCALLEN (KFXV) – A driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a business in central MCALLEN. The car drove into the pecan tree, a furniture and antiques business, on the corner of Pecan Street and 16th. The driver then collided with another parked car. Home Health Care Worker faces Manslaughter Charges

Brownsville (KFXV) – A man is facing charges after restraining a teen he cared for. On Thursday, officers arrived at the 1400 Janet Lane to a medical emergency. Upon arrival, EMS notified police that a fifteen-year-old, Fernando Moreno who suffered from intellectual development disability had died. Moreno, the victim, who was a client of Serenity home care service at the time of his death was under the care Marcial Troncoso. Arrest Made in Mercedes Blaze That Destroyed 13 Vehicles

MERCEDES (KFXV) — An arrest was made in connection to a fire that broke out in Mercedes destroying 13 vehicles and displacing several residents. A teenager was arrested over the weekend, but the residents affected by this fire have not been able to return home. The fire broke out Friday morning at the Mercedes Court Apartments parking garage located on the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue. It destroyed 13 vehicles and displaced more than 20 people.
