La Joya(KFXV)– Authorities confiscated more than one hundred gambling machines, operating out of an illegal 8-liner gambling hall. Despite a recent city ordinance that allows for these businesses to operate legally, authorities say they have reason to believe at least one of these establishments is breaking the law. Man Arrested after 560lb Marijuana Bust

Tonight a suspect, remains behind bars after his arraignment this afternoon. Hidalgo county HIDTA agents arrested 57-year-old José Luis Montero-Barraza, a Mexican national, after a traffic stop last night conducted by a deputy constable near U.S. Highway 281 in Edinburg. According to authorities, the suspect provided a false statement and documentation required for commercial drivers after obtaining consent from the driver to search the vehicle, a k-9 unit detected the presence of narcotics inside the trailer. Two Men Face Possession of Marijuana Charges

Two individuals are behind bars facing drug possession charges after HIDTA agents raided a warehouse in Palmhurst on Wednesday. Martin Contreras-Guevara and Juan Manuel Garcia-Vargas were detained after agents found 20 bundles of marijuana inside a pickup truck parked in a warehouse at the 4100 block of N.
