Tractor Trailer Detaches, Backs Up Hidalgo Co. Street

A FOX2 viewer sent a photo involving a tractor accident in Hidalgo County into our newsroom. These images were sent in at around 3 p.m. along south 23rd Street. It appears the trailer disengaged, blocking traffic. We’re told first responders helped removing the vehicle safely, re-opening traffic shortly after. Alleged Driver Arrested in Human Smuggling Rollover Accident in Edinburg

Edinburg — Authorities say the driver behind a Rollover Accident involving over a dozen individuals is now under arrest. 28-year-old Jesus Enrique Luna was arrested this weekend. Hidalgo County Sheriff’s say he confessed to transporting undocumented immigrants and was issued a $10,000 bond. On Thursday, a human smuggling pursuit happened along Monte Cristo Road and Monmack in the Edinburg area. The victims were undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America. Edcouch Official Accused of Tampering With Official Info

A newly elected official was in court Wednesday, accused of taking advantage of his position to misuse official documents and tamper with evidence. Eddie Gonzalez turned himself in Tuesday following a grand jury indictment. The Edcouch alderman was at the Hidalgo County Courthouse, where he pleaded not guilty to felony charges stemming from allegations of leaking inside information to a waste management company back in 2011 and altering its bid to get a contract. An Edinburg man has being blamed for the death of a Hidalgo County detention officer. 26-year-old Baldemar Alvarez was charged with negligent homicide on Saturday at the Hidalgo County Court and issued a $100,000 bond. Weslaco Home Robbery, Pursuit Suspects Charged

Robbery suspects that tried to make a run for it leading authorities on a high-speed chase this weekend in Hidalgo County. 47-year-old Jose Garcia, 35-year-old Ramon Garcia, 21-year-old Jorge Antonio Ramirez, and 28-year-old Rolando Saldana, were in a Hidalgo county courtroom this afternoon.
