It’s a special program which provides around 3,000 free meals a day. In the Harlingen area alone, there are 3 drivers who deliver to 132 people, all senior citizens, all in need of a meal. Meals On Wheels is a food subsidy project offered by Amigos Del Valle. It offers home deliveries using more than 18.5 million dollars in funds coming directly by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Man Dies In Auto Accident in Harlingen

A man’s life cut short last night after an auto-pedestrian accident in Harlingen. It was at around 9 pm when Harlingen Police responded to the corner of Loop 499 and New Combes Highway.  First responders on the scene located the victim – a male-  lying on the road where he was declared dead.  An investigation determining he had been struck by a vehicle  traveling west.  Authorities continue investigating the crash.  No word yet on who was responsible.  We will update you as more details become...

Police Search for Suspect who burned a 2-month-old Puppy

Cameron County authorities are searching for the suspect who burned a two month old puppy; this causing him to suffer burns on 25 percent of his body. The puppy was taken to the humane society in Harlingen. He was transported to the Arroyo Veterinary Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. According to Cameron County Sheriff, Omar Lucio it could be one or two suspects responsible for this animal cruelty.
